How ‘Clean’ Is This? The cleanest option there is for bagging your pup’s poop! Its made to be 100% compostable - vegetable-based (corn starch) and a much better option than the pseudo-'biodegradable’ options we see heavily marketed that aren’t actually compostable and will not fully degrade properly. However, we will note that there is no mention of certifications on Poopsie’s package or Amazon listing that we see with other vegetable-based waste bag brands, which makes us wonder. Finally, they do mention that their bags “break down in 12 months, compared to traditional plastic which can take 1,000 years”.

What’s Your Impact? Poopsies’ poop bags are made from cornstarch, 100% biodegradeable, and breaks down in just 90 days. We estimate that for each dog, we go through at least 730 dog waste bags a year — that is a lot of extra plastic bags out there!
The Experience
Context: We’ve got a 4 year old pup and have tried every dog poop bag under the sun. We were particularly frustrated to find out that our previous poop bags that were advertised as biodegradable were NOT actually very green!
Note: if you see EPI or Oxo-Biodegradable, it is NOT compostable and are still made of plastic — just plastic with a chemical on it to help it break down, and creates persistent micro-plastics that stay in the environment.
Easy to open (so key, especially for those in drier and colder climates!)
Sticker a little harder to remove
Thinner material than the other vegetable-based compostable poo bags we have tried (Doggy Do Good and Give a Sh!t)
Smaller bag (standard sized and fine for our smaller pup, but could see those with larger dogs wanting something bigger)
Not scented, despite claiming it is on their Amazon listing
The Cost:
We estimate that for each dog, there might be 2 poops a day — so we go through at least 730 dog waste bags a year!
Money Report: Poopsies dog poop bags are the least expensive option that is vegetable based that we have tried so far. Note that two of the other less expensive options above (Eco-clean and Pets N Bags) are NOT actually compostable as they are made from EPI Oxo-degradable plastic.
The Good:
✔ Very affordable for a vegetable-based bag (the cheapest one we have found so far!)
✔ 100% compostable, corn starch based bags

✔ No tears or holes when we unroll the bag
The Bad:
✗ Sticker is hard to get off (see photo above)
✗ Bag is a bit smaller (won’t be great for larger pups) and thinner — but we get it, this is also much more cost effective!
