Papr Deodorant in From Dusk Till Dawn Review | Vegan, Plastic Free Deodorant
The Top Line:
MIXED buy. We enjoyed using the Papr deodorant (from Paper Cosmetics) in From Dusk Till Dawn. All natural ingredients, 100% paper packaging, a pleasant smell, lovely texture, and of course limited white residue. The only snag with Papr Deodorant is how much more it is even compared to already expensive deodorants like Myro, Native and Hammond Herbs.
Note: given this is a deodorant and not an antiperspirant, so Papr is aluminum-free.

The Breakdown:
Cost & Products: Papr deodorant $14 for a one-time purchase and $11.90 (15% off) if you subscribe, which will auto-deliver a deodorant stick every 1, 2, or 3 months
How ‘Clean’ Is This? Really clean! The ingredients are baking soda, coconut oil, jojoba ester, tapioca starch, silica, castor oil, shea butter and essential oils.
Packaging: Well.. it’s in the name… Paper! Everything was paper
Purchasing & Shipping: Super easy buying via the Paper Costmetics site. Shipping is free over $25.
PSA: Nearly all natural deodorants are just that: deodorants. While some may soak up a bit of wetness, they area not formulated to be antiperspirants.
What’s Your Impact? By going zero-waste, you reduce all of the weird plastic parts of deodorant that make it impossible to recycle, by 100%. We love that. Also, given the natural ingredients, you’re not putting any questionable ingredients (like aluminum) on your skin.
The Good:

The Experience
Context: We have been trying to ween ourselves away from potentially toxic chemicals, and especially since WFH. We’ve previously reviewed other natural deodorants: Native (zero-waste), Public Goods, Myro (refillable), and byHumankind (refillable) and we did a big deodorant roundup. Here are our thoughts on Papr Deodorant:
Very neat paper packaging
The push up portion is much like all of the other paper options
Application of Papr is quite smooth and not grainy, closer to Native than Hammond Herbs
Deo worked even during our runs
We really enjoyed the From Dusk Till Dawn Scent - it’s musky and it lingers throughout the day
The Cost
We used the best numbers we could: the average user of underarm deodorant/antiperspirant uses between two and twelve sticks per year. In addition to our zero-waste and refillable options, we also compared natural, plastic free Papr deodorant to a number of other popular deodorant brands, like Dove, Old Spice, Tom’s of Maine and Schmidt’s.
Money Report: Yikes. Papr Deodorant is one of the most expensive options, even when looking at the subscription.
Our Recommendation:
