Clean People Sink & Bath Scrub Review 2024 | Eco-friendly, zero-waste scrub soap
We tried Clean People’s Sink & Bath Scrub for a month, and here’s what we thought…
The Top Line: IT’S A MIXED BUY. We love Clean People’s Sink & Bath Scrub is made from natural ingredients, no bleaches, phthalates, ammonia, dyes, etc. We felt comfortable using this even without gloves on! We liked the citrus-y scent and appreciate that the product is vegan and cruelty free. The price point is in range with other scrubs on the market. Our biggest concern is that lack of larger refill options, and that it comes in cardboard and plastic one-time use packaging (when it could be refillable!).
The Breakdown:
Cost & Products: $22.99 for 2 pack of 12.5oz containers
How ‘Clean’ Is This? Clean ingredients, free of phosphates, parabens, phthalates, chlorine bleach, artificial dyes, or ammonia. Vegan and cruelty free. However, the containers it comes in are plastic, and we wished there was a larger refill sized option you can buy
Purchasing & Shipping: We purchased on Amazon, but you can also purchase on Clean People’s website.
What’s Your Impact? This is more about less chemicals in the ingredients. It comes in a one-time use paper and plastic tube, which we would prefer to see to be refillable.
Good to Know: This is a baking soda based product (essentially scented baking soda), so good to know what you can use it on (tubs, sinks, toilets, etc) and what you shouldn’t (marble, silver, aluminum cookware etc.)
The Experience
We like that this is safe to use even without gloves on!
We like the citrus-y scent and found the scrub to work well even when our kitchen sink is particularly grimy.
The Cost
We compared the cost of Clean People’s Sink & Bath Scrub with a number of other powder scrub soaps from Molly Suds, Aunt Fannie’s, Mrs Meyers and Thymes.
Money Report: Clean People’s Sink & Bath Scrub is in range with other clean options out there from a price per oz standpoint.
The Good:
✔ No phosphates, parabens, phthalates, chlorine bleach, artificial dyes, or ammonia
✔ Vegan & cruelty free
✔ Biodegradable, plant-based ingredients
✔ Vegan, gluten-free, soy and nut-free
The Bad:
✗ One-time use paper and plastic packaging, no refill option

We're on a mission to reduce our personal carbon footprint with small, hopefully easy, changes in our home to fight against climate change. This means we're looking for products that may be all natural, ideally zero waste, reusable or compostable -- while still being affordable!
